About me

My name is Patricia van der Mooren. I was born and raised in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Now, I live in a typical Dutch village by the water called Huizen, surrounded by nature—a place where I find peace and inspiration.

Although I pursued formal education in economics, a choice driven by practical considerations, my passion for art, particularly painting, has always been a deep part of who I am. Throughout my academic journey and career in business, I continued to nurture my love for painting by taking private lessons with various esteemed artists. Painting has always been my sanctuary, a space where I can relax, explore my creative side, and express myself.

  • My unique style

Over the years, as my artistic skills developed, my unique style began to draw attention. I’ve received numerous commissions from individuals and businesses, including a notable piece for a restaurant in Amsterdam. My medium of choice is acrylic, and I’ve developed a distinctive modern style that prominently features texture.

  • Gold touch

I also love incorporating 24k real gold into my work, giving it a luxurious, luminous quality. This golden touch not only enhances the richness of my paintings but also reflects sunlight, creating captivating, dynamic reflections. I sign each painting with my initials, PVDM, in gold acrylic paint, always placed diagonally in a corner so the pieces can be displayed either horizontally or vertically.

  • Storytelling

Nature plays a huge role in my creative process. I draw inspiration from the beautiful landscapes of The Netherlands, capturing the changing seasons and the vibrant colors brought to life by our unique weather patterns. The interplay of light and shadow and the simple beauty in everyday moments are recurring themes in my work. I aim to create paintings that tell a story and connect with viewers on a personal level.
